A ceramic bust (completed) – An abstract, faceless form representing the absence of human interaction.

colour photos of the bust -

An iPhone (held in a ceramic stand, to be made upon acceptance) – The screen displays a looping video of a user repeatedly asking for a human representative, only to be met with the same AI-generated response:

User: “Agent.”

AI: “How may I help you?”

(Loop continues…)

A ceramic iPhone holder (to be created if accepted) – Designed to resemble an official service terminal, reinforcing the illusion of help while offering none.

ceramic holder will be created in similar format to the reference phoso, it will be bulky, could be glazed in metallic or left unglazed.

Project Title: Endless Loop

Project Description

Endless Loop explores the growing difficulty of reaching a real human in an AI-dominated world. By 2035, automated systems will likely replace most human customer service, leaving people trapped in frustrating digital loops. This installation captures that experience, highlighting the emotional disconnection caused by AI-driven assistance.

The work consists of three elements:

  • A ceramic bust (completed) – An abstract, faceless form representing the absence of human interaction.

  • An iPhone (held in a ceramic stand, to be made upon acceptance) – The screen displays a looping video of a user repeatedly asking for a human representative, only to be met with the same AI-generated response:

    • User: “Agent.”

    • AI: “How may I help you?”

    • (Loop continues…)

  • A ceramic iPhone holder (to be created if accepted) – Designed to resemble an official service terminal, reinforcing the illusion of help while offering none.

Execution & Materials

  • Ceramic Elements: Hand-built and glazed in a neutral or metallic finish to reflect a sterile, tech-driven aesthetic.

  • Digital Component: A 12-hour looping video on the iPhone. The screen will remain on using Guided Access Mode or a video player app to prevent locking.

  • Presentation: The glowing screen acts as the focal point, with the bust beside it, emphasizing the missing human presence.

By using ceramics—one of the oldest human crafts—to hold an iPhone, Endless Loop contrasts past and future, highlighting the emptiness of AI-driven interaction. It asks: In a world of endless digital loops, will we ever truly be heard?
